Collage magazine cover analysis

Collage magazine cover analysis

Masthead: The masthead is bold and stands out from everything else on the cover because of the font that is used. Its placements is that of any typical masthead for a magazine (centered at the top), so anyone can identify this magazine.
Main Image: The main image is of a male college student, this implies that the target audience will also be college students. He is standing in front of a blue background which works well with the other blue on the front cover. The main image is centered and everything else is around it making it the first thing you notice when looking at the magazine.
Font: The font that is used would be usually aimed at students, it is easy to read and stands out from the background. The text on this front cover fill up the empty space. The gold text give the reader an idea of what to expect in this magazine and the blue text goes into more detail about these.
Colours: The main colours used are gold and blue, this is a good use of colours because it makes the magazine look more professional and organised. These colours are also typically used in magazines aimed at teenagers and college students.
Cover lines: The cover lines include things about famous people, relationships and an interview which is a good choice because these articles would interest teenagers in college.

Overall this is a collage magazine cover this is instantly recognizable as a magazine aimed at college students, it is somewhat formal but not so much that it would deter its target audience and it has a colour scheme that looks suitable for a student magazine.
